My Neighbor Totoro is a colorful fantasy that hits the mark with kids and adults alike. Akin to the story of Alice in Wonderland, seasoned by Japanese culture, this tale follows the lives of two young sisters who are transplanted to a new home in an unfamiliar countryside village to be closer to the hospital where their mother is being cared for. While their father tackles the role of raising the girls on his own, the two sisters must make new friends with the locals, as well as the intriguing array of spirits that they discover living in their old house as well as the woods around it. This story is a heart-warming masterpiece that will engage every emotion you possess before its over. And now that its been remastered on Blu-ray, the visuals and sound quality are top-notch. My 3-year old daughter LOVES this movie! It is so beautifully done, that my husband and I enjoy the artwork in all the scenes. The story is charming, and perfect for little imaginations. Our first step into the Disney Ghibli anime world, and it rocks !
