Very entertaining with a great storyline and super cast. Well done. Kevin Spacey does an excellent job. Interesting look into the dark side of politics and power in the White House.

Great cast, well written and great production quality. I hated every character in it. No one to cheer for when everyone is a bad guy! Glad I only bought one season!

The series is incredibly good to watch, the monologue, or removal of the fourth wall, between the viewer and Underwood, an effective method of storytelling as well as the expression of emotion or opinion, and Kevin Spacey does a superb job at pulling it off, along with every other aspect of his complex and intriguing character. The writing, direction, and storytelling are outstanding. Underwood has a massive ship to steer, and it is fascinating watching how he does it, through manipulation, blackmailing, greed and determination. Each and every character has an essential role to play - all characters are important.
Even if you don't care for politics, this drama is great. Kevin Spacey plays the role very well as a determined politician. I found myself skeptical at first and finally gave House of Cards a chance. You have to give it two full episodes to decide if you are going to like the show or not. I will warn you that if you watch it all the way through it is going to leave you with one heck of a cliff hanger. I love the plot, it feels very real, the back stabbing, the twists along the way, even if you never trust Kevin Spacey's character Francis Underwood you can't believe how determined he is, and other characters are so human and real. You won't like this show if you are looking for cookie cutter characters and good guys or bad guys. The realism to the story, the writing and characters is how humanly tainted everyone on the show is. Not a single person is completely innocent and they all have their own Agendas. Once the episodes picked up by episode 2-3 I was hooked, its an addictive, fun, intense, sexy, and smart television show.Read full review
Kevin Spacey and cast hits it out of the park in this realistic (albeit cynical) portrayal of life in Congress in DC Spacey's Frank Underwood may well be over the top in his efforts to further his political career often times crossing the line between cunning but legal and blatantly illegal activities. His wife, Claire, shares Underwood's mantra of achieving political success without regard to moral constraints.
