This is a good book for beginning artists. Edwards is a competent and logical teacher of art. Her approach reduces fear factors and confusion about color giving you tools for your own mode of working. You are not limited to any medium, either. Though she lists acrylics and oils for the media, I use water color pigments and had no problems with the exercises she gives in the book. However, do not expect some kind of "miracle", but you may find "aha!" experiences taking place that will give positive reinforcement to your endeavors. Following the book, step by step, with patience and attention will produce positive results.
I have been painting off and on for over 30 years. I bought this book because it was required reading for a Color Theory watercolor class. It's an excellent resource for learning all about the importance of color in painting. I learned more from this book than I had from many years of experience. I'm sure I will refer back to it many times. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about color and how to use it in decorating projects, crafts, painting, etc.
Excellent book with a lot of valuable information!
