This is a very nice little set of figures which includes a seated pilot figure mentioned neither on the box or in the instructions. The motor tug is a nice little kit in itself, but the pilots are the attraction. Posed for a flight deck briefing, these well-detailed figures will dress up any WWII US Naval Aircraft display. I am about to embark on a build of a Monogram TBD Devastator and will use the figures to populate the scene. If there is a downside to the set, it is that Tamiya would do well to follow on with some other Deck Personnel. I would love to see some 1/48 scale Plane Captains, Aircraft Pushers, Ordnance Personnel, etc, complete with accessories and tools. Other companies do make such figures, but the costs are very high. Tamiya could do it and make it affordable. Another excellent offering from Tamiya.Read full review

Outstanding quality as we have come to expect from Tamiya. All modelers building WWII aircraft should have one of these sets. As far as durability goes just don!!!t drop it !!!

This is a great kit you get 5 WWII Navy pilots holding a briefing on the deck of an aircraft carrier while 2 crew men carry a box of ammo to load an aircraft before take off. You also Moto Tug with driver and two different styles of tow bars either tow from the rear or the front. There is another pilot that you can put in an aircraft Will make an awesome add on or stand alone diorama of a Flight deck

Together with my completed model of a Dauntless that actually flew that first attack on the morning of June 4th, the grouping will make an interesting diorama on a base depicting an actual US Navy aircraft carrier flight deck of the period.
