The 3 megapixel stage of digital photography produced many serviceable and still usable cameras, and this is certainly one. A 64 meg. Smart media card gives it adequate capacity, the controls are easy to use and 4 AA's give it good power. I like being able to turn on battery saving setting and use the viewfinder.

My second camera of this exact type since the wife uses the other all the time. Currently in Cannes. These are versatile cameras, excellent picture quality and media friendly. Plug into a PC with the USB adaptor, rechargeable batteries last a good while. Short videos (no sound) make for a quick and family friendly memoir of your events. Shot in QuickTime, need a conversion program on the PC like Prism to turn into a Windows readable .mpg file. All in all these are one of the finest cameras, made in 2002. A camera from a camera manufacturer in contrast with a 'phone' manufacturer is definitely superior.
Love this camera. I received one from my daughter years ago & since then I've bought 5 more. A couple were dropped & cheaper to buy a used one on Ebay that have them repaired. This camera is so easy to use & takes pictures much better than a brand new Kodak that my husband bought for me to use. I still go back to the Olympus D-550 plus I have lots of reusable smart media cards for them.
Great items to find... love them all and hard to find.. love the way it pictures and place on your pc.. has so many more thing to do..
