This movie has very good actors that are at in top form with every role of each scene. I enjoy watching this type of movie. For those that like westerns, this is one they could watch.

I think John Wayne directed this movie. I cannot believe I had missed watching this movie until now. Evenly paced, beautiful scenery beautifully filmed. Simple people rising up to the challenges of life and truth.

I have never been a John Wayne fan, but I missed this movie when it was produced. Wayne bought the rights to Hondo and was instrumental in the production of a film that preserves the integrity of the novel. His selection of a leading lady did not reflect a desire to provide glamour but to remain true to the concept of the Western woman who will not abandon home to avoid danger. I must say that this was a well-directed film because from Wayne as Hondo Lane to the child who was Angie Lowe's son, the actors seemed natural and energized. I was truly pleased with the inclusion of the information about Apaches and about the making of the film. I enjoyed the history lesson on both accounts.
The best John Wayne (yes, I'm a huge fan) movie that a lot of people have never seen. And who better to play the hero of a story by the legendary Louis L'amour. Thanks!
