What can be said about these irons? They go STRAIGHT. That's about all you can say about them. They are perfect for the player seeking super game improvement irons. The handicapper of 20 or higher... These clubs have extreme offset and large area - so even mis-hits go pretty far. Do not buy these irons if you are looking to shape your shots, hit knock down shots, or be able to properly bump-and-run a 7-iron with extreme feel. These irons go straight... I'm about a 12 handicap and I actually bought these irons on E-bay for a friend because he doesn't have an E-bay account. I prefer to play "players irons" such as Titleist blades, Mizuno, or TP series... These Callaway irons are VERY forgiving and will give you a high ball flight. The uni-flex shafts are very nice and cover a wide variety of swing speeds. I recommend playing them in steel.Read full review

Bought these clubs because I did not want go through the expense of being fitted for a spare set. I knew what I was looking for in terms of club. After lots of reading I chose the X-22. They perform as advertised. Clubs feel great and even though a little older I think they are great. Only thing I would say if you are someone who likes tons of feedback this might not be the club for you. They feel solid when you hit them - but you can't really tell where on the club face the ball hit. Doesnt matter to me because all I care about is that the ball goes where I am aimed and most of the time it does with these clubs. Really enjoyed them and for the price I paid they are a bargain.

I am very happy with my purchase of these clubs. I went with the 5-pw because I have a set of hybrids that I like and am more comfortable hitting them than a low iron (3 or 4) and I have a set of Cleveland cg14 zip wedges that I love so there was no need for me to order a set that came with an approach and sand. The set I got are in the uniflex shaft which is good for most swing speeds but I personally think that they are more on the stiff end of uniflex than the regular end. They are a very forgiving set on miss hits but when you hit it good you know it immediately. There are few things in life are a fullfilling as a well struck golf ball. I recommend these clubs to anyone who wants to spend a little more to see their scores drop. Hey if Rocco Mediate is willing to put them in his bag on tour to do battle with the Tigers and Leftys of the world then they are certainly good enough to go in mine around the local course.Read full review
For the last year I have been using a name brand set of hybrid irons. I had enjoyed the ease they gave to get the ball high and long. But my lack of accuracy really bothered me. I had previously gone to a demo day where I fell in love with Callaway X-20's. I decided that it was time to bite the bullet and bought used X-22's. From the first hit with the 6 iron my game has improved over 10 strokes. I have had to adjust for the extra length and really happy with the tremendous accuracy.
