I cam e from an HTC One M7 and this is what I can tell you about the Moto x 2nd gen. Pros Really fast. Great screen For a 5.2 inch screen it does not feel too big. It feels great. Light, slim and comfortable to hold. Hate to put a case on it. Love the voice commands and that the phone is always listening. You can just talk to it with whatever prompt you setup and there are many commands to give it. You can set it up for trusted areas so there is no need to unlock it like in your car once connected to bluetooth. Cons The music player is good but the HTC One has better sound with Beats Audio. That is about all that is better on the HTC One M7 as far as I am concerned. Battery life is ok. I can make it thru a day with normal usage. That means reading some articles, using soem apps, texting, making some phone calls and streaming some music maybe 1 to 2 hours. But heavy usage will require some additional charge. In all I really like the phone. It is pure Android with nothing additional on it and the phone is so fast. web pages load immediate.Read full review

This Moto X 2nd gen replaces a Moto X that withstood my abuse for two years. Umpteenth drop and I shattered the screen. Phone still works fine, but . . . The 2gen has noticeably larger screen. Thin with the curved back and very comfortable hold. The metal band around the perifery does make it slippery. Texture plastic on 1st gen is better. But 2nd is faster, better camera, etc. But slippery - had 3 wks. Dropped it once and screen shattered . . . gorilla 3 glass didn't help. Long deliberation considering Samsung, LG, HTC, Nexus but cost and lack of bloatware led me back to Moto.

As you probably know, Apple has just released a new line of smaller phones. This is a perfect size phone for me and while phones have continued to get bigger and bigger, there's something to be said for a phone you can hold in one hand and access all the buttons with easy reach. I bought this phone when it was first introduced and it was my favorite ever. The feel has substantial heft and obvious quality. the textured back is somewhat rubber-like and provides really good grip and it has great features. Call clarity it great, the camera is really good (I mount it on my chest and take a lot of motorcycle video-blog movies with it. The picture is great and the sound is unbelievably good in the 70 mile an hour wind. I take a lot pictures while working on my bikes and have accidentally pushed the phone off the workbench on to the concrete floor one too many times and the the rear-facing camera finally quit. Never damaged the screen, or made any big dents, but I needed the camera... I bought an iPhone 6 to replace it. It's a good phone - no doubt, and I can adjust to the iOS or the Android system without much problem (they're not *that* different), but the iPhone 6 just never felt good in my hands or in my pocket. It was too slippery for me and too thin (weird, I know) and just felt odd. I thought I'd get used to it, but I sure missed the curved back and great feel of the 1st gen Moto X. I was looking for an app that I used on my Moto X for the iPhone and it wasn't available. That got me to looking on eBay and I was shocked to see this phone, available, brand new, in the original, up-opened box at an amazing price. I thought about it for quite some time and then I noticed there was only one left! I bought it instantly. It arrived in less than three days from one side of the country to the other - Amazing! It was like finding a treasured item that had been misplaced for 6 months. Nothing against Apple phones or nothing against folks who want really large phones - this particular phone feels the best and operates the best of any phone I've ever used.Read full review

This is the 16 Gig model running AT&T's version of Android 4.4.2. As I'm in Hong Kong, I paid $20 for a carrier unlock code and can now put any GSM nano Sim card in the phone world-wide. It runs 4G LTE in USA/Canada and Hong Kong, so its just perfect for my needs. My HTC One M8 has the Asian LTE bands and isn't compatible with USA LTE. Only issue was the quick battery drain of 5-6% per hour. Found the solution on XDA forums "Moto X Battery Life" and it now drains at 1.2% per hour, which is what I'm more accustomed to. Love the active notifications and the always listening "ok Google now" however this feature is recently also available ("OK Google") on my HTC One M8 as Google has been pushing out new software. At around $210 for a "new-other", its currently a great deal, however, expect the price to drop when the new Moto X (2?) is announced later in August 2014.Read full review
Perfect size, good battery life, nearest thing to pure android after the nexus. Broke the screen on my 2nd generation X while on vacation. I had replaced the screen once already and the battery was starting to show signs of weakening. I searched all the current phones being offered and nothing compares to the X in value with the features it has. I'm refuse to spring $700 or more for a phone. Since the replacement screen for the X is a bit on the pricy side when I found this new unlocked X, I didn't hesitate.
