The storyline is not deep in the sense of requiring the reader to think long and hard, but rather it’s entertaining and well-paced along with being well-written. If you enjoyed the early days of surfin’ music as well as the joy of a good old fashioned road trip, and also want to know what it would be like to be an ol’ time rock n’ roll singer making a cross country tour of small town USA, you’ll enjoy this well written tale.

What a pleasant surprise. For any fan of rock from any era. Especially essential for any Jan & Dean fan, truly one of the best books I've ever read. Yes, I'm a big fan of Jan and Dean and this book brings back some great memories of dreams unfulfilled and realized. Glimpses of some of the greatest artists in the history of rock and roll. Made me go out and by CDs from some of the artists Bob Greene met on his travels and what a collection it is. I highly recommend this book.
