If you are a serious medical student, I recommend shelling out a few extra bucks to get a slightly better copy. I mean, you're already paying X amount for your med-school tuition, am I right? What's a few more bucks? But, on the other hand (ahem), if you're just an artist or medically curious individual, I highly recommend this print of the celebrated text by Dr. Gray. The text is reproduced in an easily legible typeset, with acid-free archive ready paper, high contrast ink and a rugged spine. The only drawback I can see is that some of the illustrations (look to be etchings or pencil drawings) aren't printed in high enough resolution to be intelligible. A minor setback, as this is only the case for FEW of the illustrations.
Bought this book for my son who's a medical student. He loves it and was thrilled to have this copy. Anyone in the medical field will have to have a copy of this book. This copy is a paper back which is nice to have when you're on the go, you can leave the heavier hardback at home or the dorm and grab this one and still have all of the pictures and information you need, just a lighter load.
I am an artist and decided to buy this book to study human anatomy more closely to enhance the rendering of my images. I am fascinated with the skeletal, muscular, and vascular systems, but did not have an extensive education in these areas. Thus, the text is accessible and incredibly informative, and the illustrations are already helping me render a higher quality of images. I understand why this book is still so popular, years and years after its original publication!
A great desk reference of the human anatomy.
