Honestly the only thing imperfect? my decision to buy a Medium nib instead of a Fine. this pen is lovely, in every way, it has great feedback, without being scratchy, it feels good in the hand, a great weight, and a very lovely translucent blue.

Before placing the review it is crucial for the future readers to know about my background using fountain pens so the words will stay in perspective. During my university studies (many years ago) i was using MB149 Mnib which I have chosen as a gift - means I had the opportunity to chose any pen i want from the selection of the shop (Waterman, MB, Sheaffer or Elysee) after ending my many years at the university I have stored the pen and never came back to it till recently (about 7 years ago when during my job I have met OMAS vice president when it was belong to LHVM) and the hobby starts again....Since then I wrote with Marlen ("7 kings", "Zeus", "HTF geneve", Montegrappa "snake" and "extrem 1930", "DV" by Delta so basically Italian brands. and since then I am more or less following what’s going on at the reviews etc' - I was surprised to read so much about Pilot, Platinum and sailor and from the so mach bla bla bla - I have said to myself what can happened and i have started with the platinum. I will probably will find the time to try the pilot and the sailor. I was surprised to open the box and to see beautiful pen (much nicer in reality than photos) nib is basic even when you say 14K but hey I am used to pens 10-20 times more expensive. I start to write immediately and after few minutes put it back to its box! after 3 days I have said to myself it is not fair...I should at least try to enjoy it and you know what; I love it! worth any money and more than that i have started to think over my collection saying to myself who really needs all those expensive pens when someone can enjoy the #3776 for about 100USD. I will definitely will go on the future on the Pilot 823 and later on the 1911L.Read full review

The pen itself is beautiful. A nice rich cobalt blue. I already have a red one but wanted the Chartres blue. The problem is with the nib. It is very scratchy even with several different inks. My existing red Bourgogne Platinum pen writes extremely smooth. So i am unhappy with the pen i recently received.

The semi-transparent blue is absolutely beautiful. Always writes without a skip. Just a great pen all around.
