I like the Cradle of Filth sound but disliked the new direction they were going in. The new age sound too it was not bad but was not as dark and as traditional as the original.
I bought this CD basically just to say 'I own a Cradle Of Filth album' I'm a huge metal fan and I've never really been a Cradle fan besides a couple of songs (one of which is on this album 'Mannequin' - great song!) so I bought it and had a listen and they aren't as bad as I had first thought. The album is mainly easy on the ear black metal (one of my favourite genres) so if its brutality you are looking for its there but its not as consistent as it is throughout for example a sitting of Satyricon or Dimmu Borgir, if you are a Cradle fan I suggest you check both those bands out if you haven't already. Unfortunately there isn't a check box there for 3.5 as I reckon the album is worth more than what I have given it. If you are looking for an album to start your Cradle Of Filth collection, I suggest Damnation And A Day.Read full review
It is just brilliant. This is what you call real music! You should listen to all of Cradle Of Filth's albums, they are all amazingly talented and write amazing lyrics
Okay - great orchestrals but no idea what the Filthman was doing here... This is NOT Cradle at their best and slightly disappointing for veteran fans.
