I had the movie years ago. It was an awsome movie. Buy, with a divorce in 2018, I list many of my favorite movies. Polar Express, The 3 disc Santa Clause with Tim Allen and many others. I am just now financially able to replace them. Divorce is a terrible thing to have happen. I'm just pleased that I can find the movies to replace the ones that I lost. Pirates of the Caribbean is the next series to get replaced. I only get retirement pay once a month, so I have to choose carefully where I spend my money.

The Polar Express (also known as The Polar Express in 3D) is a 2004 Academy Award-nominated feature film based on the children's book of the same title by Chris Van Allsburg. The film, written, produced, and directed by Robert Zemeckis, is entirely "live action" using performance capture technology, with the exception of the waiters who dispense hot chocolate on the train, because their feats were impossible for real-life actors to achieve. Performance capture technology incorporates the movements of live actors into animated characters. It stars actor Tom Hanks in five distinct roles, including the role of Santa Claus. The film was produced by Castle Rock Entertainment in association with Shangri-La Entertainment, ImageMovers, Playtone and Golden Mean, for Warner Bros. The visual effects and performance capture was done at Sony Pictures Imageworks. The studio first released the $170 million film in both conventional and IMAX 3D theaters on Wednesday, November 10, 2004. It was the last film in which Michael Jeter made a contribution as he had died on March 31, 2003, and the film is dedicated to his memory.Read full review
That this is a great animated film is beyond question --- it has been a favourite of mine for some years. But I could never seem to get a decent copy in this area, even bran-new from the factory, as it were. So I finally thought of ordering a used copy that was already assessed as in good condition & so I now have a decent (excellent!) copy of my own at last!

Director Robert Zemeckis revolutionized the art of animated film in 1998's WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT by dropping cartoon characters into the same frame with flesh-and-blood actors. In THE POLAR EXPRESS, live action and animation have merged seamlessly, resulting in sparkling super-realism. A landmark technique Zemeckis and his Sony Pictures Imageworks team call "Performance Capture" perfectly suits the tenor of this wondrous children's Christmas story by Chris Van Allsburg. A disillusioned little boy, just old enough to doubt the existence of Santa Claus, has the adventure of a lifetime one fateful Christmas Eve. Clad in his pajamas, he climbs aboard a magic train to the North Pole, driven by a kindly train conductor (voiced by Tom Hanks who starred in both of Zemeckis's Academy-Award winning films FORREST GUMP and CASTAWAY). Among myriad jaw-dropping moments, the train plummets brakeless through crystalline mountains in a simulated roller coaster ride. Going off the rails, skidding sideways, and snaking violently across a frozen lake, the train arrives at the North Pole (a vast, glowing city of brick buildings). At that moment, the car carrying the kids detaches and they're sent tumbling down never-ending chutes and slides until they land in the middle of Santa's Workshop. With its fascinating tale and impressive technical frolics, THE POLAR EXPRESS is destined to become both a holiday classic and a new turning point in the art of animated cinema.Read full review
The Polar Express is one of my very favorite Christmas movies! And it's absolutely my Favorite recent (within the last 10 years) animated Christmas movie. The movie plays just fine, with no skips, delays, or malfunctions. The visual quality of the movie is excellent-sharp and clear, with no problems. The sound is also excellent.
