Highly imaginative and quite well acted. I've tried to pick a favorite character each time I've watched it and keep coming back to the Mad Hatter, probably because of Martin Short's incredible voice modulations combined with crazy facial distortions... But Christopher Lloyd's White Knight is always amusing. Have watched it about five times now over the past 20 years and find something new in it each time. There are several not-so-good (half-grimacing here) parts but overall it's very entertaining for both children and adults, not an easy feat. Best way to watch? Choose a day when you are not feeling rushed and let yourself be pulled into the story. Then watch it again with the kids :)

This is the Alice in Wonderland I grew up with as a kid. I used to have it on VHS but no longer have a VCR so I really wanted the DVD copy. It's out of print everywhere and this is the only place I was really able to find it for a good price with the actual box case and pamphlet inside. It shipped very quick, it was actually delivered 2 days in advance to the estimate so I was very happy. If you're looking for a new twist on an old story, this would be the version for you. The animation, animatronics (lifelike mechanical representations of real animals) and costumes are excellent in this movie as well. I bought this movie for my mother, an avid Gene Wilder fan. Both she and I thoroughly enjoyed this version by the Hallmark Channel.

Every movie calls you into its world. The secret to a successful movie is whether it can make that world believable or not. This movie, well produced as it is, handsome as it is in its sets, special effects and photography is just plain boring. The main star goes through the motions, with its impressive cast all of which try very hard, but all of who are working with a very dull script. Together with flat directing, the movie appears longer than it is. There are attempts at humor, and with the possible exception of Whooppi Goldberg playing the cat, everybody else is playing an odd sense of dry humor and going through a story we've seen or read before. For all the obvious money spent on the production, it is a very dull show. Don't waste the time.
