I have been a Diana Palmer fan for well over 15 years. However, her most recent work has become so formulaic and predictable. Every hero has some horrible tragedy in his past, every heroine seems to be between 18-20 years old with a horrible tragedy in her past and has a medical condition or injury that lands them in the hospital and, subsequently staying with the hero while recovering. I realize there are many people that overcome tragedy to lead a wonderful full life, and Diana seems to want to convey this; but it's frustrating to see the same formula being used with new characters. This story was nearly unrealistic--they despise each other one moment and are agreeing to be "family" the next?? I have read all of Diana Palmer's books and enjoy her work immensly and there are many that I read over and over again. So, as a diehard Diana Palmer fan, I can honestly say she is capable of a much better body of work than her most recent releases indicate. RECOMMEND 4*sRead full review
Best Diana Palmer in years~ Everyone has a "secret" here~ small town Bookseller Sara has to deliver books to the ranch of wealthy HUNK Jared (guess he never heard of ebay?? ) LOL so Sara delivers the books to him and they find they have lots in common but he is openly rude to her. We find they both have lost family members lately and this makes him very leary of any woman~ the BEST character in this book is TONY THE DANCER the body guard for Jared~ he is fascinating....we end up liking Tony better than Jared~ go figure but we know Tony will likely show up soon in another DP novel or had "better" show up~ we see the attraction between Jared and Sara melt the ice each has around their hearts and trust but Jared loses control takes Sara's virginity on a sofa...inspite of this.... Jared is at least nicer most of the book. Sara is good at "standing up" to Jared and very funny too~ I still liked it better than any Palmer book she has written in about 5 years. There was plenty of humor in this one and I laughed out loud several times~ if we could loose the 'nasty guys" Diana we would be a bit happier with you~ I give it a SOLID 8 OUT OF 10. and will be looking to see how soon NICK THE DANCER SHOWS UP. Diana Palmer is an excellent writer, she makes all of her characters come to life without being totally subjective to just a female perspective but also the male view. I thoroughly enjoy all the books I read by her including this one.
I love Diana Palmer books and have neverbeen disappointed!I buy all her books I can. Especially like her western books. Hope others enjoy her writing as well.
