Mr. Bishop brings you back to the humble beginnings of Hot Rodding history. He outlines the tried and true methods, of how to build a 1950's era Hot Rod with parts from that time period. Together with Vern Tardel, the Author gives great examples of how early Hot Rods evolved, and the young builders who crafted them into works of art. The information discussed in this book is the cornerstone of the Hot Rodding movement. I recommend that anyone interested building a 30's Hot Rod read this before they start. Even if they want to add a modern flair to their build, the wisdom in these pages will be invaluable.

I loved this publication. I have loved the old Deuce and A-Models that Henry built almost all of my life. I have not yet built a Hot Rod but I found this publication gave me a lot of encouragement to build exactly what I have been dreaming of for years. The book is well written, and an easy read. There are some of missing details but the author has been careful to direct the reader to other more detailed resources. There is also an ample supply of photos or illustrations to help the novice understand the buildup. I would recommend this book to any Car Lover. Even if you do not intend to build a Nostalgic A-Model with a Flathead, you will understand why others do.
Want to build an old school hot rod? The book shows you the way, and is really honest about what it is going to cost you in your money, time, and labor costs.
