Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark in this sequel to the blockbuster Iron Man. This movie takes up right at the end of the first film with Stark announcing he is Iron Man and goes on from there. The plot revolves around the technology of the Iron Man suit and who should own or control the technology. The government wants it, foreign governments want it and so do all the other defense contractors, the chief being Hammer Industries headed by Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell). As the movie begins we find out that Tony Starks father had a partner in the design of the Arc Reactor, Anton Vanko (Yevgeni Lazarev). As Anton dies his son Ivan (Mickey Rourke) sets out to get even with Tony Stark for his father destroying his family. This is a great movie and a great sequel. Most of the characters are the same with the exception of Don Cheadle replaces Terrence Howard as Air Force Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes Starring in this movie are: Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Don Cheadle as Lt. Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes, Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko, Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia "Pepper" Potts, Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer, Scarlett Johansson as Natalie Rushman / Natasha Romanoff, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan (Tony Stark's bodyguard and chauffeur), John Slattery as Howard Stark, Garry Shandling as United States Senator Stern, Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson, Leslie Bibb as reporter Christine Everhart and Paul Bettany as the voice Stark's computer, JARVIS. Also appearing are: Comic Book Legend Stan Lee appears as himself but is mistaken for Larry King. News anchor Christiane Amanpour and political commentator Bill O'Reilly as themselves. I recommend this movie to anyone who loves a great action movie and especially to Marvel Comic Lovers. NOTE: Be sure you watch after the end titles for a 30 second continuation to the movie and a lead in to a possible Iron Man III movie?Read full review
With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts and James "Rhodey" Rhodes at his side, must forge new alliances and confront powerful enemies. Downey is actually better than ever in this sequel. Iron Man 2 knows how to jump the hurdles and have you wanting more. Mickey Rourke is outrageous as a Russian killing machine. Iron Man 2 isn't content with one bad guy, there are lots more. Iron Man 2 is very entertaining, but it's the talented Downey who makes Iron Man 2 something to remember.
While this movie was fun to watch, it definitely was NOT as quality as the original. This has a lot to do with the fact that the script left a lot to be desired. RBD Jr was great in his role, as were most of the actors, BUT when the material they have to work from isn't up to par, there isn't a lot they can do about it.
the sequel to the iron man movie. a very awesome movie. a must buy if your an iron man fan. even if your not a fan you should still buy and watch the dvd because it is extremely awesome. they even bring the new iron man war machine into the movie. Tony even creates a new iron man suit the mark 5 i believe. Just buy the movie, you wont regret you did. it is also funny throughout the movie. action and a little bit of comedy packed into one movie. one word...awesome!!!
I bought this copy of Iron Man 2 specifically for the digital copy which came with it. In that respect, it was perfect.
