( I love the blacked eyed peas) so naturally I was intersted in Fergie's first album.I decided to buy this cd after hearing the songs Glamorous and Fergaligious. I bought it hopeing that all the songs on the cd would have that same kind of rythem and they don't. By far Fergalicious and glamourous are the two best songs on this cd and althought I was dissapointed that the cd did not have this type of energy throughout I am still very happy with it. It's a great first album for Fergie but you can defenitly tell it's a first.
I have to say that my daughters begged me for this cd. They loved the songs London Bridges and Fergalicious. I had heard these two songs on the radio and decided to go ahead and get the cd. Stupid me didn't realize there were two versions - clean and parental advisory. If you are buying this cd for your daughters (under the age of 16) I'd say go for the clean version. I have since had to list this cd on ebay and purchased the clean copy for our home. Still, I have to admit, most of the songs have VERY minimal cussing and the songs themselves are really good! If I was buying this for myself, I could easily keep the parental advisory copy and not have any complaints!
If you're looking for a CD with depth, emotion and heart, then this is NOT the CD for you! However, if you want beats to sing along to, dance to, and just have fun with then you should definitely buy Fergie's The Dutchess. Yes, her songs may seem meaningless to some but the music is fun, get-up-and-go music. There are also some slow songs that really showcase Fergie's voice. "Finally" is a great song that shows that even though she can take her music lightly and have fun with it, she really does have an amazing talent for singing.
I usually dont really listen to this type of music but about a week ago me,my friend, and her younger sister where at their house when my friend's sister came bursting though the door. She came in screaming,"Yes!Yes!I got Fergie's new CD!"and jammed it into the CD player. So we all started listening to it. I thought it was OKAY,but hardly. What I didn't like most about it was that it seemed ALL the songs where really meaningless. They where really about nothing and had no emotion. But that stuff gets stuck in your head, lol. It's really catchy so... I dont know,I still wasn't impressed. 1-9 = 4.5 Thanks for Listening, ElectricScene
I have not always been a fan of Fergie. In April, this dude got me to go out with him because he recited the lyrics from London Bridge and they were so ridiculously funny that I thought he was funny, but he turned out to be a dud... Anyway, my friend recently got this CD and I listened to it and didn't hate it! "Clumsy" is a perfect description of the way I feel about someone. Many songs show the softer side of Fergie, like "All that I Got" and "Big Girls Don't Cry." A fun reggae song "Mary Jane Shoes" will have you chillin' with your windows down. Now I have my own copy.
