This version of "The Outlaw Josey Wales" is in the North American (NTSC) VHS format and was issued in 1990. This is pure Clint! It's a story loosely based on several actual events at the end of the War Between the States in the border state region. Clint's romantic interest in this movie and the child actor who played his son did extraordinarily well. An intersting bit of trivia: In Germany, this movie is titled "Der Texaner", which is completely confusing. It's also rated as restricted to those over 16. My specific interest in this is due to my gggrandmother's brother (Bob Lee) who is mentioned in this movie and was noted in history as the last Confederate hold-out in Texas, which caused the American Civil war to continue until 1866 in Texas.
Probably clint eastwood's best movie which molds history with a mans need for justice. It also has a wonderful charm and atmosphere to it with Lone Waddy Chief Dan George which leeds us to the best line in the movie when clint eastwood asks him if he has anything to eat Lone Waddy says all I have is this piece of hard rock candy..... but its not for eating its for looking threw.
We purchased it as a gift for a friend that loves Westerns. He was very pleased with the tape. My husband likes Clint Eastwood and thought this was a very good movie.
