Jeannie (Barbara Eden) is even more gorgeous, and breath taking beautiful in color for the second season of one of TV's most charming and endearing fantasies. Of course as we all know, Jeannie's navel is still not ready for prime time, and her live-in relationship with astronaut Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman), the man who freed her from that bottle, is still strictly platonic. Like any wife, she is upset when Tony forgets their one-year anniversary in the season opener. And when Tony unwittingly frees the Blue Djinn, who originally imprisoned Jeannie, it looks like he won't survive year two. Naturally, being stuck in a bottle for 2,000 years, the vivacious and playful Jeannie is more innocent and naive than her bewitching counterpart, Samantha Stevens. Her well-intentioned magic complicates Tony's life in such episodes as "My Master, the Rich Tycoon," "My Master, the Rainmaker" and "My Master, the Spy." She transforms Tony into an operatic virtuoso in "My Master, the Great Caruso," landing him in a talent show, and leading to perhaps the most versatile lip-syncing scene since the Three Stooges sang the sextet from Lucia in Micro-Phonies. Jeannie blinks Tony back into the Old West in "Fastest Gun in the East," on Captain Kidd's ship in "My Master, the Pirate," and back to Napoleon's court in "My Master, Napoleon's Buddy." No wonder that in "There Goes the Best Genie I Ever Had," he considers taking advantage of Hajii Day and sending her back! Wonderful to reminisce as we all go back to our younger days of watching I Dream of Jeannie. In my recent searches for I dream of Jeannie products, I was considering the purchase of a set of DVD collections for all 5 years of this T.V. series, when I discovered that I could purchase each season separately without buying the entire collection at once. In today's economy we are all looking for a good deal, and I had a lot of fun bidding for the "Jeannie" DVD's. I was thrilled at all the choices out on the bidding field. There were enough good deals in every category you could think of. For instance, you could choose new, never used, slightly used, in excellent condition, good condition, etc. Also, for those of you who know how to bid, just choose your price range to fit your budget. I scored with the one I received. It was slightly used, in excellent condition, and the price was right what I could afford, cheap! I searched for the "I dream of Jeannie" DVD specifically because my daughter is a figure skater and wanted to do a fun grown up program of what we in the competetion world of figure skating call artistic light entertainment. When she asked around about I dream of Jeannie, the responses she received went something like this: "You have to have lived under a rock not to know who Jeannie is!" Considering how popular Jeannie still is in this modern age, The decision was made to "Entertain" as Jeannie on skates. So reviewing the "Jeannie" shows help her get into character. And, as expected, she did! She is a cute Blonde young lady with a quirkey personality just like Jeannie. These fun 25 minutes shows gave her and her coaches lots of fuel to create a "Jeannie on ice". We've also used the dvds just to have some family time laugh out loud fun at the end of some of our long days when there is only enough time to watch a little something on TV. These are great choices for light entertainment. This TV program was done in the late 1960's. Old fashion values, clean, safe, and as I have said several times in this review FUN! There are a lot of choices out in our world for watching something on TV. Why not pick a clean, funny program that everyone in the house can enjoy. This one transcends all the generations with something for everyone's taste. Sounds like a review on food. Well, in a way it is. Good food for your soul. Start bidding for your own Jeannie seasons. When you get yours, just sit down and expect the unexpected. Feel good fun!Read full review
In the second season of I Dream of Jeannie, Jeannie still tries to trick master into marrying her. She also becomes unhappy and starts vanishing when she realizes she does not know her birthdate. Tony Nelson meets Napoleon and history is changed. (Or is it?) This series is just a very funny, good clean series. Colonel Bellows can't figure out why it is only raining over The Nelson house. Tony becomes a magician, a spy, a pirate and a sheriff during this season. His head is still attached at the end of the season, but there is a couple times he almost lost it! Well worth getting for hours of entertainment.
A wonderful, Colorful Sitcom, Using Actual People For Actors and Actresses! Funny and Entertaining for Almost Anyone! AAAAA + Entertainment! I Highly Recommend It!

The idea of writing a show the runs less than 30 minutes, the right characters, the great chemistry, friendship, and the most important of all, doing the right thing, may sound impossible in today's sitcoms. But I Dream Of Jeannie, fulfilled all of that. Sure, it may be too superficial for some viewers however, one needs to laugh about the "old School" style of comedy. This 2nd season is one of the best story lines and I recommend this for anyone who wants to laugh, dream and even wish.
