Chris Carter's wildly popular series follows FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) on top-secret assignments to investigate all manner of paranormal activity. The show--which blended science fiction, horror, and comedy--ran for nine seasons. Fraught with tension (sexual and otherwise), the relationship between the two partners divides along lines of belief: Mulder puts stock in tales of aliens, even believing that he had been abducted, while levelheaded Scully is a doctor and a pragmatist. This release is the final installment of a four-volume series focusing on the theme of aliens; the episodes are taken from seasons eight and nine, and shed light on the threads of government conspiracy and cover-ups that have been introduced in previous episodes.

Recapping the Storyline that takes Center Stage
The real arc of the X-files concluded in the first three seasons. It had all the Mulder/Skully things in it ANd it really got all the syndicate notions out there. One thing that stayed, however, was an idea about what transpired with regard to the Dogget/Reyes stories. There are Seasons 8/9 and they have one theme, Super Soldiers. One thing to know is that this is in the seasons and you canget it out. Still, it is nice to have it pointed out to you. Some other episodes, like Jump the Shark, are easily confused with this theme but they only reference the idea. They are not the them itself and they do not further it. Also, a timeline comes with the set and it is useful. I liked it with the last 3 as well and I wanted it all conclused. When it is put with the others, it is a pull-out and it is printed for you, it shows the what and the who behind it all. That alone makes it worth it to me. You might need to be a big fan for this to matter, really, but you can always see this two ways. If you do not want to see the last stuff then you might just want a recap. This means missing Season 8 and, really, this is a good season in review. 9 is not as good but it had the final episode and it names the when for the aliens. Also, it has a surpise person. That said, all of it is on the set. This lets you have it and have it without some of the seasons. So, you decide. Regardless, it is nice to have.Read full review

X files vol 4 super soldiers
Like most who followed X-files in the late 90's, I lost interest after 2000. Now that there are a lack of quality paranormal programming its time to turn the clock back and catch up on what we missed. It is nice to see excellent directing combined w/very skillful acting. Robert Patrick and Anabeth Gish are an excellent addition to the strong team of Mulder and Scully. I would definitely recommend this to any X files fan.
