Instruction sheet was missing, so I did not realize that one of the small gas ports in the back of the valve needed to be sealed with a plug. When I installed this valve in the stove and turned the gas on, natural gas blew out the open port into the top of the stove. Fortunately, nothing caught fire. I checked how the original valve was configured (it had a plug) and then installed the new plug into the open port. Everything works well now with this gas valve. Advice: use pipe joint compound with Teflon for best results - apply light coating to both male & female threaded parts. (Note: this particular valve was from NOS - new old stock, at least 20 years old, so a missing instruction sheet is not a surprise.) I would definitely buy this valve again from this seller if I need a replacement.Read full review
