I read the entire set of these books. I was not sure I was going to like them as I thought the first three of them were rather slow to take off and did not really grab my attention. After Antietam I thought I would give one more a chance and I was glad I did. The next seven books did seem to pick up and I found them to be very enjoyable and quite easy to read. The only problem I had with any of the last 7 was the last one, Appomattox. My problem with that one was that I did not care for the way that the series was ended. I felt that to many things were left up in the air and found myself wanting one more book to tie everything together. I actually felt that it was left that way so that Mr. Reasoner could write another book about the Brannon family if he wished.
