I purchased this book due to my LOVE of the 1970's! I'm especially hooked on the 70's decorating. Not the gaudy things but the love of the clean lines.Round shapes and playing with textures. The ability to throw in a BOLD and sometimes OUTLANDISH item in the home decorating ,yet it really works. This book has some great examples of that like,Inflatable furniture,Faux fur bed spreads,A beanbag SOFA,Super MOD wallpaper and FUNKY collage's.There are a few examples of real gem's like EAMES Chair,POP art by Jasper Johns,Wormley sofa,Tulip Table and Chairs designed by Eero Saarinen,Wire Chair designed by Harry Bertoia,Peter Max Sheets and Towels to name just a few.The reason i have only an average rating is that there is too much colonial and traditional here for me.I would have liked to have seen more of the Pop Art,Contemporary,of the time.More color pictures would have been appealing along with more detailed info re the pictures.Often the book will talk of the interior designer and not let us know about the fabric designer,or the furniture maker. All in all i will keep this book and add it to my collection.Read full review
Thank you!
