I've read several other books by John Feinstein, such as "A Good Walk Spoiled," "Takes from Q-School", "Open" about Bethpage Black and I knew "The Majors" would be good reading, too. I'm about 4/5 of the way through the book and I highly recommend it to any golf enthusiast. If you wonder about the pressure and work that goes into qualifying for any of the four biggies, then check this out. John walks you through the players who are in contention or near it and makes you feel like you're actually involved in the process yourself. Having been to the Master, myself, I can visualize the steps taken by the various players as they approach the various fairways and greens John talks about. He is correct, the hills are much steeper than reflected on TV, but the colors around the course are much more beautiful than even John can depict in his words.
