Skipping high school to stand in line for hours to see the original Star Wars... oh, seven or eight times, I've been a fan of the series for ages, despite the movies' many obvious flaws. They weren't made to be believable, just fun. At least the first three (IV, V and VI) were. The next three (confusingly I, II and III) were, for the most part, made to bore, but that didn't stop me from seeing them, buying them and watching them repeatedly. Lucas just got too involved, I think, and needed to get away for his own sake. Thank god J.J. Abrams was there to pick up the reins! I appreciate that he stuck with John Williams, even though I'm hardly a fan of his (some of his scores are some of the sappiest, most ridiculous melodies I've ever heard; other scores are magnificent, among the best of all time, so he frustrates the hell out of me). This is my favorite of all the Star Wars scores, by a lot. Abrams removed the overblown melodrama (which worked in the first three, mostly because of the novelty of the series); there is actual acting in this movie! Well-written and acted characters, a ridiculous storyline--because it wouldn't be Star Wars without it--but a solid script with entertaining dialogue without wasting words; add to that terrific effects that don't whiz by in a blur so you can actually see what's going on, and you have one solid little SF action movie at a good price. My favorite Star Wars episode cost me half as much as books I, II and III did each.Read full review

I always liked these movies. They went on for years. The original acting was good. I am guessing they are trying to create a new actors to continue the series. The only thing I don't care for is the way they keep wanting the bad guys to change, Vader for one. He killed millions there is no forgiving for that yet they did. Now they have the son and the same thing will probably happen. they both should be burnt alive anywho. good movie.

There is tragedy in this most recent episode of a well liked character and the film is fun, suspenseful and action packed. All the familiar cast of characters takes us Star Wars fans back. You'll feel the nostalgia. It's also good to see how some have changed over the years (i.e. Princess "Lia") The special effects were off the charts reflecting contemporary times. Admittedly, enjoyed the other Star Wars films more, however. It seems like the good guys defeated the bad guys rather predictably.

Happy with purchase! Couldn't tell if real or bootleg DVD, but quality is excellent, however no additional features on disc. Thanks again!

This is a great movie and all the characters are A-1 actors and the graphics people did a wonderful job on all of them. The aliens are amazing creations and I wish were shown more. I am always looking forward to the next one. I was fortunate to have our local Classis Kiing radio station play all the John Williams creations and could almost imagine myself there listening to him direct the orchestral wonder!
