People always write that Sailor and Platinum have pronounced tooth or feedback. I say this is the direct result of nib split not done right and subsequent misalignment of tines. The way makers shape the tips do yield that effect to some degree, but mostly the errors in manufacturing process. I have bought a fair number of Sailor and Platinum pens. Only a small percentage of them write smoothly OOTB. Pilot suffer from this also, but at a much less %. That said, the physical shape of the Sailor pens are so so comfortable to hold for long writing sessions. Their pens are also so balanced when posted, no matter what size. Pilot should take note of this. I never write with a pen with its cap off. I doubt most people will either. Tines can be aligned, tip can be ground, but the body of a pen cannot be altered. I strongly recommend this pen.Read full review

Though a little to small, as it turned out, for a long writing sessions, 1911 Standard size works exceptionally well with my Midori TN in passport size. I highly recommend this pen. I think that is that.

Great pen, would have given 5/5 but the nib tines came slightly misaligned. Writes great after a slight adjustment.
