You may have seen the movie, but you are missing out if you haven't read the book. This is a story of intrigue, lies, deception, and life in an old Southern city. Because it is an account of true events, the story is even more interesting. I first read this book before the movie came out in 1998. I have wanted to visit Savannah, Ga ever since. One day I will make it. The author transforms the city and characters into very real people that you feel as if you know personally. I highly recommend this book, espeically as an audio CD to listen to on a road trip. You won't be disappointed.
This is an excellent audio recording of Midnight in the Garden of Good And Evil. The actor manages to pick up the subtle touches of all the characters in the story, making them real and almost as alive as if you had lived there yourself. If you were displeased with the film version because it strayed too far from the book, you will be very happy with this version of "Midnight..." The short interview at the end wraps up a couple of details about what happened at the end of writing the book and a lot of details about the characters after the book was published.
5 thumbs up...very good movie and scenery
