Funnyman Tim Allen has proven time and time again just how good he really is, no matter what project he decides to take. The television sitcom "Home Improvement" helped to establish his career. He has also succeeded in several movies. In 2002, he reprised his role as Scott Calvin in the film sequel "The Santa Clause 2". While the other 2 "Santa Clause" movies in this series are very enjoyable, it was this second film that still remains the best of the entire trilogy. Set eight years after the first film, Scott Calvin (Allen) has adapted quite well to playing Saint Nick. He runs the North Pole with assistance from his many elves. Two of them, Bernard and Curtis, have the task of informing him about another clause in the contract that qualifies him to be Santa Clause; 'The Mrs. Clause', meaning that he will have to get married or else Christmas will totally be gone forever. Making matters worse is the reality that Scott's son Charlie, now a teenager, is on the naughty list because he continually gets into so much trouble. Scott decides to help out his son, so he creates a life-size Toy Santa to take over things while Scott is gone. Calamity ensues when this toy replacement punishes all boys and girls the world over. What makes this chapter in the "Santa Clause" franchise so much fun and so entertaining is how well the story and characters develop throughout the entire production. Producer Brian Reilly said, "Santa has to find a way to deal with being a dad in a time of crisis for his son, and balance that with keeping the North Pole running for all the children of the world. He also has a meeting with other magical people." While the other 2 film are fun to watch, this 2nd movie stands on its own very well. Tim Allen is at his best in "The Santa Clause 2".Read full review
This movie is a great movie for the Christmas season to watch as a family. In this movie Santa (Tim Allen) must find a Mrs. Claus or he will stop being Santa. He leaves the North Pole to find a wife and take care of his misbehaving son, Charlie, who has made it onto the naughty list. The North Pole is left to a duplicate Santa that begins a tyrannical rule over the North Pole. Will the real Santa find a wife before Christmas Ever and be able to save Christmas?
