Channing Tatum is applying for a job in the Secret Service protecting the President of the US (played by Jamie Foxx). He takes his daughter along with him so they can tour the White House after his interview. During the tour, terrorists attack inside the White House and Channing Tatum ends up saving the President. This movie is fast moving and has comedy mixed in with the action. This movie will make you want to watch it again and again.

This movie has all the hilarious quotable quips, loud explosions, elevator climbing, crashing, bullet-flying, popcorn action you'd expect. It's smartly written, well-acted, and entertaining from beginning to end. Is it ridiculous? Absolutely. Is it silly? Very. It's absolutely what you want and expect from a Die Hard movie. It's also the most likable Channing Tatum and and Jamie Foxx have ever been in my opinion (yes, I actually sat through Step Up, She's the Man, Ray, and Stealth, slightly more traumatized with each new movie). If you are expecting Independence Day or Stargate levels of over-the-top sci-fi battle-royale-with-cheese you will be disappointed. If you just want a rollicking good time with a Die Hard movie set in the White House you're probably going to love this movie. It doesn't have a single annoying character and I actually laughed at the jokes. The performances by the superb cast are uniformly excellent. The sound, effects, camera-work, and overall direction of the movie do not disappoint. Highly recommended to action fans who like things on the over-the-top entertaining side you can crunch popcorn to and wash down with a Slurpee.Read full review
Formula plot, predictable but very enjoyable escape from everyday humdrum. Want to see how it compared to Olympus Has Fallen, and it is as good if not (for the action parts) more enjoyable. First movie that I have seen Channing Tatum in and I liked his acting and his counter play with Jamie Foxx. I didn't buy it to critic its believability because the premise of the movie is entertainment not realityand it is entertaining. All the characters and there parts where cast well. An easy movie to sit and watch after a long day at work.
Action was good, secret service personnel seemed like a group of cub scouts on their first camping trip, "What do I do now?". First time I have seen a movie president act like secret service trainee. It seemed as though Jamie Fox kept trying to up-stage his rescuer, Tatum Channing. Jamie Fox's character also acted like a prima dona, smart allick know-it-all that was just too cool for this part, of course, this is typical for Jamie Fox, his character was the same in the movie "Stealth". All-in-all it was an OK movie.

I thought that the movie was well done and dramatized (maybe a little over) what could really happen in today's environment though I would hope that this is really not indicative since movies usually draw from possible real life scenarios and I would hope that we are better prepared in the area of defense. Acting was very good as well as the cinematography. Since I am an "action" junkie this had a lot of what I look for in a good action movie. My recommendation to those that are into action movies as well as good acting with some humor on the side.
