It's lighter than other grinders I've had in the past of the same size- grinds nicely and finely if you prefer. You can control the level of grind, and the teeth are not glued as one piece to the top- it is all solid, which is great- as gluing the teeth to the top can cause problems later if the base peice becomes loose. Overall it's a really nice, light, relatively compact item. Also really love the rose gold color!
