I remember seeing the TV Peanuts special with the same name. I know there is a book based on it but lately couldn't find it. While reading it, I could hear the TV program in my head, almost the same way as the book was written. The book is one of the few Charles Schulz's creation that deals more of the serious aspect than of the humour about life. Kids (& adults) need to show understanding & compassion of those who have cancer (& other diseases), rather than shun them or make fun of them.
I bought this book because my 4 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with leukemia, and I was trying to find a kid friendly way to expose her friends and classmates in order them to prepare them for the changes that she as well as they would be facing in the upcoming weeks, months & years. I found it a great way to help them understand in a kid friendly way, and terms they were able to understand.
Great old book
