This CD combines two Jimmy Dorsey records, Dixie By Dorsey and Dorseyland Dance Parade, with two bonus tracks to boot. It's all fun, Dixieland-style music with plenty of New Orleans sound. Recorded in 1949 and 1950, these songs are very lively and enjoyable. There are eighteen tracks in all, my favorites of which are "South Rampart Street Parade," "Jazz Me Blues," and "When You Wore a Tulip." If you like the jazzy sound of The Original Dixieland Jazz Band and similar outfits, you'll definitely like Jimmy Dorsey's take on Dixieland.
I like the big bands and 1920's thru 1950's music in general, so this fits my likes poifectly!!!
