Michael Moore's reputation as a documentarian has become top knotch because he does such expert research. Instead of using the kind of unfounded rhetoric that the Bush adminstration did, Moore gets to the roots of issues surrounding the most controversial events of 9/11. He offers an abundance of evidence of the untruths the Bush adminstration told and got away with that were used to take the USA into one of the most unstable states it has ever had to endure. I am grateful to Moore for making public through his documentaries facts that show how specific acts by specific agents of the US government were nefarious.
Now that there's hindsight from "Rolling Stone's" Peter Travers (2.8.04) statement, "Moore has marshaled what's on the record and off into a stinging indictment of where we're going," it sure does sound prophetic! It's where this nation went, to be sure. One of the rarest politically corrupt times in the history of US Executive Branch government has occurred during the G. W. Bush presidential administration. Whether or not liking the style of documentary the in-your-face filmmaker Michael Moore is best know for producing, "Fahrenheit 9/11" was in theaters on time because Michael Moore had the foresight to do the necessary research to create a scathing view of the Bush adminstration from being scandalously selected by his father's "buddies" in the US Supreme Court as President of the US in 1999, to sitting in a child's classroom while key military, finanicial & government targets were in the cross-hairs of Arab terrorists for attack, to the Bush family-Arab big money alliance, to G. W. Bush's pre-censored military record (which he has repeatedly lied to deny), to Gen. Colin Powell being proped up in the United Nations with false documentation of what were water transporters presented as mobile "weapons of mass destruction" factories, etc, etc & so forth! Staunch Bush family supporters will remain in denial and attack this documentary. Questioning world citizens will follow Moore's trend of theory & empathsize with the everyday people who appear to tell their true stories of how their families have suffered because of the Bush administration's corrupt activities for the past 7.5 years. In hindsight, "Fahrenheit 9/11" is looking better than when it was released at the height of terrified allegiance to the newly terrorist attacked commander in chief. Now that a dreadful, costly, unnecessary & unsuccessful war has continued without ever capturing the Arabian terrorists in charge of the 9/11 attacks & more top level government reports are becoming available to the public, we have this film to look back to & ask, "Was Moore on point"? In a word it's "controversial." With gasoline prices nearing 5$ a gallon, the Congresses having to bail out the financially bankrupt government, most of Bush's original cabinet no longer part of it after being caught doing corrupt activities or because they no longer wanted to be associated with the Bush administration, with a huge population of US citizens literally despising what this president has done to out international status as well as our personal finances, the people finally agree that they're over the oil president. That means they've reached very similar deductions that Moore's controversial film does. Like it or not, more US citizens than not agree with Moore's foresights today. Perhaps one day we'll be able to find the humor in the history we've lived through this film. But, for now, the national sentiment is far too raw for that. I feel that as more time passses, "Fahrenheit 9/11" will be a defining documentary about real events that half of the national population lived through & couldn't admit were real. The other half could. Just as the nation itself was split in half, so are the sentiments towards Moore's documentary. I've always asked the question, if Moore's film was slanderous in any way, then how come no one ever brought a lawsuit against him? People can't be sued who have told the truth. This film has a huge following that celebrates it as a triumph in truth telling~Read full review
