Product arrived in like new condition. I haven't had time to connect it yet, but I expect it will work fine. So, why only 3 stars instead of 5? Because the keyboard they shipped is NOT the keyboard shown in the listing! I wanted the model shown in the listing (which is the same model that I have now and which still works perfectly except that the letters have work off many of the keys after over 20 years of regular use). Dell made (at least) two different keyboards with built-in smart card reader. The one shown in this listing is the model with keys the stand about 3/8" above the base, with larger keys on the bottom row, and with the Print Scr, Scroll Lock, and Pause/Break keys all the way to the right above the numeric keypad, and the underside of the keyboard has grooves to attach the removable palm rest that comes with the keyboard. The one they actually shipped has keys that are barely 1/8" above the base, has regular size keys all the way across the bottom row, has the Print Scr, Scroll Lock, and Pause/Break keys next to the end of the function keys, has the card reader slot at the far right, and has a small permanent palm rest built-in to the keyboard. Excellent product that was essentially plug and play. It came with software; however, there was no need to install it since it worked right out of the box. I purchased it because of the card reader capability. I used an external card reader previously and this unit seems to work much better. I'm very pleased with the operation of the keys and every other keyboard function. The price was very reasonable for this unit as well.
My office has implemented single sign on with a smart card (our ID card) so when I work from home, I need a card reader. Laptop card reader became unreliable, so I picked up this dell keyboard with card reader. On first install it takes a LONG time to install the drivers, but after that, it's very reliable - and it's a good keyboard to boo!
