This kid is a genious. Lupe combines aspects of social consciousness, rap history, and world history into this album. Lyrically, he delivers ryhmes that just make sense. "Real" and "Just Might Be OK" begin the album on a weird alternative rock vibe. However, he delivers fluently through the guitar strings. With the release track "Kick Push" the album picks up speed and rides smooth all the way to the end. Lupe definitely proves he can hold his own but gets accompanied by Jill Scott and Jay-Z.
I have heard a lot of good reviews and feedback about this artist and his CD. The praise was justified in what turned about to be an excellent tape. It must be something about those guys from Chicago {Kanye West and Common} as they have more to say than most of the other junk representing Rap and HipHop.
I love Lupe's generic flow, it's so smooth. Great vocals and beats, with an unexpected essence of wit. Best song, The Instrumental.
great CD! can be listened to all day long without getting old. its nice to hear a artist who isnt talking about how big his rims are on his old chevy. sometimes i like to hear something different...
Lupe is the new era of Hip Hop! Kick Push the slammin single was just the tip of the iceberg. All the tracks are just one hit after another! Get it! Play it! Love it!
