Began Playing this game with friends and co-workers while working at a Boy Scout Summer Camp. One of the best board games we played over the summer. A good gateway if interested in eventually playing Star Wars Armada. This game is great regarding the Fighter to Fighter Dynamic (Some learning curve to the game). Looking into expansion sets after time to add a new dynamic to the game. Verdict: Recommended to Star Wars Fans and Board Game Lovers. Definitely a good investment with the potential to grow into more elaborate play styles.

Probably one of the best 'fast-play' space combat games I've ever had the pleasure to play, and I've played quite a few. This Core set, however, comes with an outdated damage deck, the new one is only in the Force Awakens version so far. Flight stand posts are a little fragile, but that's about the only complaint I can make. (A little super-glue will repair most problems with this). Overall the game is one of the most entertaining and fast playing I have played without sacrificing too much realism in return. Some other points of interest: due to the large number of small parts this may not be suitable for (or around) very young children. This also may require a lot of storage boxes of some kind. Do not store the ships with the flight stands connected, this is when the flight stand posts are most likely to break when transporting them. These do not play well on felt mats, as the bottom of the stands tends to catch on the felt when lifted or moved. (The official mats are cloth backed with rubber, and aftermarket vinyl mats are available, I prefer the latter). With care and good storage the pieces are likely to last well. Bonus points to Fantasy Flight Games for pre-painted figures, so it can play right out of the box. I'd say no-assembly-required, but that would not be absolutely true, but it is just putting the stands together (with care, read the instructions!) and placing the model on it. Rules are fairly simple and the Rules Reference booklet is excellent, as it brings all of the rules from previous supplements (expansion sets) in one place. (This comes with the Core Sets). Excellent game of dogfighting in the Star Wars universe. Game has everything you need to get started and play small games. For the price, I recommend getting TWO starter sets, as it will give more ships with which to build squads, and the ships end up being cheaper when purchased that way. Highly enjoyable game, and for their size, the ships are surprising durable, just don't be dropping or throwing them around all the time. Highly recommended and fun game to play!

The whole game was here. All the cards, tokens and figures. I already own a copy of x-Wing vol 1. but this will add more ships and more pilots for extra players. All the tokens and cards were in top shape, and the miniatures were in brand-new condition. This is a super one-in-a-million find!!

This game is a lot of fun to play with other Star Wars fans. You put together a fleet of ships to battle your opponent. You pick your flight path and roll dice to see if your attack hits and defense dice to see if you get hit. The game is over when you destroy your opponents ships. The models are very detailed and to scale. There are over 50 different ships to play with. This core set includes an X-wing and two Tie Fighters.
