I have been a Mountain fan for many years and I was upset that they released this album 12 years ago and I didn't hear about it, talk about lack of promotion. I enjoyed this record but 2002's Mystic Fire was much better. Don't get me wrong, I do like this one, but if I were to introduce a modern audience to these rock pioneers I would let them listen to Mystic Fire. There are still some heavy riffs here, Leslie West just blows me away. The songwriting was good but not the best. It could have used some more anthemic songs with stronger choruses and longer intros. This is a good record and I would recommend it for any hard rock or classic rock fan or even a hard core blues fanatic. But if you want Mountain at their best, get Mystic Fire or their newest effort, Monsters of War, a dandy rendition of some Bob Dylan covers.Read full review
