I have seen Mr. Price perform Edgar Allan Poe many years ago and have wanted to have his work on DVD for some time. The Tomb of Ligeia just came along with it as far as I was concerned; I haven't watched it yet. Vincent Price was one of the last, great thespians. Every role he played took on an ominous power. Even his voicing of Vincent Van Ghoul in a short lived Scooby-Doo series carried his distinctive dignity. I lamented his passing as I did Roddy McDowall and Sir Alec Guiness. This title is out of print, if you can get your hands on one - hold on to it.
The Tomb Of Ligeia was the last Roger Corman/Vincent Price Gothic Classic of the 1960's. With lush outdoor on-location filming, it was a fitting end to the Edgar Allan Poe Stories Vincent Price did so well! Ligeia was his first Wife in the film who died--or DID she? A mysterious black cat who roams the countryside has the answers in this chiller thriller! As a Bonus, you get to spend an evening of Vincent Price reading the Best of the Poe Stories to you personally from an old mansion! Price brings the Tales alive and becomes the main characters! So sit back, keep a candle burning, and by all means lock your doors...It's the Gothic Hour once again.
B Side is very great so is A side
