Here is a review of the 1997 2-Disc Soundtrack of Star Wars: A New Hope (Special Edition). If you've heard the music in Star Wars: A New Hope, you know what to mostly expect in this Soundtrack (along with music that you not have been able hear in the movie); from the memorable Opening Text crawl to Binary Sunset to the Throne Room at the end. A Special that comes with this 1997 release is a booklet that explains the recording process along with how certain character and event musical motifs were decided. A very insightful bonus that might be worth getting if you're a Star Wars Aficionado. Overall, This album is a worthwhile buy and recommended whether you're a Star Wars fan or a person just looking for good music.

The original vinyl lp version of this soundtrack made me into a John Williams fan. And you can't beat the music from this film. But...do they have to keep re-releasing it? I've got it as part of a box set, which was then re-released as a BIGGER box set, then a single disc version, then a double disk version...enough is enough already!! No offense John, I love the music, but stop finding stuff in the vault.
Love it , love the music

Setting the foundation for Star Wars music, this soundtrack brings you back to those memorable moments from A New Hope. It's got the perfect collection of ambient, dramatic and even goofy (cantina band) music. What can I say, the music is just as important as the visuals thus making the soundtrack a very important piece of any Star Wars fan's collection.
