I bought this compass for my Russian/Soviet army officers map case. The compass is sturdy but quite "lively" - it takes quit a time for it to settle and show right direction. There is a locking device - maybe I cannot use it properly, but if I take a fix with the compass and try to lock it, the card turns a bit while locking... BUT a nice item to own, price was good, I think I got what I was looking for. Maybe not the right tool for WM orienteering finals... (-;

As described, in brand new condition. Should be a handy compass, wearing it on the wrist is a good idea - not having to constantly pull it out of a pocket means it'll be checked more often. It takes a few seconds to orient, probably because it's not a modern liquid-filled compass. It's accurate once the arrow settles down though.
