Once installed, the system booted the first time with no problems. The board itself was identical to the defective one I had, so all the features I originally had in my laptop were available. In relation to installing the board in your laptop, make sure you have the proper tools (screwdriver, pudge, etc.) so that no damage is done to the screw heads or plastic covers. Also, make sure you are properly grounded with a ground strap at all times; to avoid static electricity discharge to the board, memory modules and other components during handling and installation.
This Mother Functions really well. I have upgraded the Cpu on several of these units. They are very versitile with HDMI,Firewire,SD slot,Flash module, Bluetooth,4USB and will accept a 150mbps Class N Wireless module for excellent wireless capability. You would swear you were hooked up to a Hardline. The over all CPU and GPU tempratures remain within very reasonable specification. The fan is very quiet except when you upgrade to the Intel T8100 and above. The 1280 X 800 Wide screen is very clear and very readable. I would have to say that the down side is the GMA X3100 Graphics. Great for most web surfing,Streaming,Movies, most online games( the small ones)Video chat, Skype etc, But.. This is NOT a gaming laptop. The video is the bottleneck. As for office application and such it does just fine and as for multitasking, Max out the Ram to 4GBs. It will also handle Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 X64bit surpisingly well with a little bit of hunting down the Ricoh 64bit driver for the sd card controller as well as the WDM driver for the Video which gives a 2.9-3.1 on the WEI Score. Easy access for cleaning the Fan and heatsink,Ram,Wifi and upgrading the CPU. You do not have to tear the whole computer apart. This unit is light weight and Slim but is not for the man handler. Battery time is excellent depending on your taste in power settings. On balanced I was getting about 2.5-3 hours with the screen brightness set to 5.Read full review
Why I bought it? I had a DELL 1525 with a broken motherboard. What I like most about it? I can use my laptop now. What you dislike about it The start button is not working and this is a problem from the motherboard I have bought(the buttons are working with other motherboards). To be able to use the motherboard I removed the bios battery and every time I start the laptop I must remove the power cable and the accumulator and then reconnect them. Would I buy the product again? I would buy again because I can't find the same product refurbished in Romania and because a new product would cost about 4 times the price I paid(taxes included). This defect should of been listed when I brought the product. In the end it was a a good deal but it could be better.
Upon installation, it worked just fine. It did what I expected it to do. The installation took some time, but that was due to the computer internal design, and not the motherboard itself,
