It is necessary to use different tips with the Leatherman Surge. I think it is overpriced for what it is. A regular hex drive bit driver would be much cheaper. This is basically the same thing with a flat tip instead of a hex tip. I personally prefer magnetic bit holders.

Leatherman ought to include this with the basic package as opposed to the wrench they supply; I see this getting much more use. I carry a strip of 1/4" drive bits in one of the sheath pockets, of which one of the bits is a 1/4" socket adapter, allowing me to use the MUT as a nut driver/socket wrench. Perfect!

Love how useful this is, much easier to use as a screwdriver than my wave. However, the bits are quite difficult to get out of the bit extender. I often have to use the wave to remove them. Other than this one flaw, it is great.

It does what it is supposed to do. It's a little pricey, but that's the cost of accessorizing man toys. You could make one yourself with a bit driver and a belt-sander, but it wouldn't look as cool. You are paying for cool.

A must have multi tool accessory, allows you to use standard bits. Beware not to over torque as I broke one of my bit drivers on my first charge alx leatherman. Great quality but a bit pricey!
