The murder that this book is based on occured in my hometown, so the entire town was upheaved and mortified by it, as the victim was a very prominent and well-liked person in the community. I am familiar with several people who are mentioned in the book, and, as a matter of fact, attended some of the court proceedings during the first trial. I found the book to be somewhat, but not entirely accurate in details of the events leading up to and after the murder. I also found the author's writing style to be somewhat odd at times, but it was interesting to read the book again and, sort of, re-live the satisfaction that justice was served with a verdict of "guilty!"
From the beginning I couldn’t believe how the murderess was able to deceive several husbands and abuse children as she did! The author went into great detail of her background and I believe she had absolutely no conscious!

I saw the movie, and the book had more details, that was not mentioned in the movie. The book was very good, could not put it down. she was a very vicious woman, and got what she deserved.
I live in Peru , and I remember all the sensationalism during the trial...I recently watched an interview on t.v. with Susan Grund. She is a ver narcisstic woman still.
