First, I want to note that I have never read any of the books in this series. My wife and I are new Christians, and we received this as a gift from a loving family member. We sat on this movie for a few months.. mostly because I found it difficult to picture Kirk Cameron as anything but a snotty b-grade sitcom star. Boy were we wrong. This movie is about the rapture and those that are "left behind". The production quality is slightly above a B Movie, but the script and actors are so good that they were able to pull off a great film... even with what I'm sure was a very small budget. I don't want to give away too much about the movie.. I hate reading spoilers and giving them is just as bad. This movie is thought provoking and I would suspect that the majority of non-Christians will find the movie worth the watch. I am told by those that have read the book, that it is a bit of a let down, but that could be said about nearly all movies based upon books. We liked this movie so much that we purchased the other two movies in the series. The production quality gets much better in the later movies. Bottom Line: Christian or not, this is a good movie worth the time and money.Read full review
I ran across one of a series of many and was absolutely spellbound. I have bought about half of the series so far and looking for the other half (soft books). It's a little cheesy in a few places but it is a very CLEAN movie; no blood, guts and filthy language! EVERY BODY should watch/read this series. We are so close and YOU all need to have your house in order; store MUCHO food. We are having a food crisis and it's just begun. Due to go up by 40% this year alone. Protect your family. By the way, this is not science fiction. The Rapture DOES happen as is told here. Anyway, ....I hope you all will try just one book; the first one, of course. You will be hooked.

I have read all of the books that this movie was based on. I liked the way they followed the books as well as they did. The only thing I disliked about it was that it wasn't long enough to cover the full story. I bought this on for a gift for my nephew. I also love the fact that there was no foul language nor nudity anywhere in the entire movie.
This is a riveting movie about that time that many Christians are sure is coming very soon, The Tribulation. Suddenly millions of people vanish into nowhere. Their clothes, their jewelry and personal items are the only things left. These are the saved. The rest must go through the Biblical torment.
