The Ninth Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology covering the Point Barrow Alaska Expedition and Apache Medicine Men would have to look hard for two more contrasted subjects or places than these. Still the authors have given us a wealth of information in their extraordinary coverage of these two subjects. They put you there and the illustrations will leave you in awe, especially Bourke's hand colored illustrations in his report on the Apache. Both authors are well known and respected students of ethnology and have demonstrated their professionalism in these reports. Yes, the information is well over a hundred years ago, but they seem as fresh as yesterday. To give you an idea of the importance of these reports one only has to look at the number of reprints that have been reproduced over the years. Too, the dealer that had this item knows how to describe and ship his merchandise. I will remember this when I look again.Read full review
