You can't be wrong with Gary Moore. Only a few guitarists have the same attitude for guitar playing. This album represents Gary's rock era. However it has more feeling that a hundreds of other rock albums of its time. Gary's vocal performance is nice too here. As a guitarist I was into the modern technically oriented guitar playing in the mid 80's. A few years later I was exhausted with the whole shredding thing and tried to find something else in rock music. Finally, I saw Gary's performance in Stockholm. I was totally amazed with the feeling of his playing. Last year he had a gig in Budapest so I had the opportunity to catch him in live situation. It was one of the greatest guitar performance I have ever seen. The Run for Cover album is a great start to someone who are interested the hard rock side of this guitar geniusRead full review
RUN FOR COVER is my first purchase by former Thin Lizzy guitarist GARY MOORE and it won't be my last that's for certain! This 13 track remastered edition features 3 bonus tracks and is a MUST HAVE for Thin Lizzy fans because it features not 1, not 2, but 6 tracks with the late PHIL LYNOTT (Thin Lizzy founder and legendary frontman/bassist). And the guitar work of GARY MOORE is stellar. RUN FOR COVER is one of Gary's earlier releases when he was still mainly a rock 'n' roller, he is now strictly a bluesman and it's a shame because RUN FOR COVER rocks with the best of them! Standout tracks include "Military Man" , "Out In The Field", "Nothing To Lose", "Run For Cover" and all 3 bonus tracks including a really mellow version of the Lizzy classic "Still In Love With You" with Phil Lynott on vocals. Gary Moore's guitar work on RUN FOR COVER will blow you away and that combined with the guest appearances of Phil Lynott and Glenn Hughes, make RUN FOR COVER a classic release. I give it 5 out of 5 stars without hesitation! ROCK ON, lln.Read full review

This was,and remains, one of my favourite albums of the 80's,by one of the few guitarists that I have always admired. If I'm not mistaken, this was one of the last albums that Phil Lynott performed on before his early death. If you like 80's rock, great guitar work,as well as a couple of truly memorable power balleds, then,by all means, put this album in your collection.
This is my 3rd favorite CD by Gary. Not quite as rockin' as previous, but very good. "All Messed Up", "Reach For The Sky", "Nothing To Lose", title track plus hits "Out In The Fields" and "Military Man"(both with Phil Lynott)
