I had high hopes for this movie, hoping that it would offer a fresh look into what had actually happened to Donnie. I had hoped to see his life before, during, and after the 'crack-house' laws really came into play in the rave scene. Donnie was more or less made out to be the poster child of what can happen when the government doesn't like whats happening, and can't find a logical way to control it. -Instead what I was given was a "day in the life of a raver" -- Pretty much it offered was a few kids ideals into what makes up raves, and how they go to raves, and what they think of them. It did not list much of the life of Donnie, aside from shots of him talking about his party that specific night. This whole documentary takes place over one night. It was not a story about his life, more a small excerpt, of which it shows one rave. It does nothing to expose the deep story behind how he was taken in, and what has happened since, aside from a small 5-10 minute blurb at the end of the movie. With that said, I still got the chills watching scenes from the actual party itself and with the caliber of DJs, and music that appeared on the disc. Overall I would say its a pretty run-of-the-mill disc. I would rank movies such at Moonshine over America's "American Massive" and "Better Living Thru Chemistry" as better selections of documentaries.Read full review
We are all dead and keep dying. There was a time when everything made sense. Our souls reached nirvana now just waiting for our bodies to decompose.
