Very good book. All Christians should read, as it gives you a good idea of how sinful much of the church was at the time off the Council of Nicea. This council was brought together to address the idea of Christ being God, but there was so much political back and forth that any determination at that council should be taken with a grain of salt. Arias argued that Jesus was not God but the Son of God as scripture stated using arguments that Jesus had said "The Father is greater than I." In opposition, Athanasius argued that Jesus had to be God or he couldn't have died for our sins. Constantine, a former sun worshiper and head of Rome, called the coujncil. The author did a good job showing how religion/politics played together.
