If you like a book that is filled with thousands of historical facts, scores of photos and/or renditions of the time, that offers a concise recap of different people, things, places, events, etc. in Middle Age history then this book is a good fit. It has people, places and things that I never even knew existed and gives a lot of relevant and good info. It pretty much includes about every continent and culture during the time of the Middle Ages and goes beyond a typical belief that only the Europeans were the integral and important players during the Middle Age period. A really good reference book for research, writing assignments, history courses supplements or to just have on the shelf and leaf through from time to time. If you are into any of those types of things then this is a good fit for you. It's one that I will hang onto because, hey, you never know when it may be needed.Read full review
This is a good book. For the beginner, it is tucked under the arm and 'carried' about through the initial discovery and learning phase of this period. For the experts it fits in one of your near by book piles. Here we chose this book to train a small cadre of volunteers, and get them comfortable speaking about the distant period. The format is perfect for this. Good Luck In Your Travels. regards d.e.ostler a.t.t.s.
Has about everyone detailed in it. Many I have never heard of. Only thing I don't like is that it is in alphabetical order instead of chronological order.
